Worldwide sales and service
Since it launched the world's first commercial portable diode array metals spectrometer in the 1980s, Arun Technology has led the world in the fast-growing market for portable and desk-top CCD-array metals analysis systems.
CCD technology enables a single, small and robust instrument to measure the whole spectrum in a chosen range. This means that analytical lines can be selected by software and Metalscan spectrometers are therefore not limited in the number of elements which can be analyzed. For example a typical conventional spectrometer will have around 30 analytical channels, while a standard Metalscan instrument will measure approximately 700. Metalscan instruments use spectrometer components with no moving parts, and use no potentially harmful radioactive isotopes.
The 1990s have seen the introduction of Arun Technology's Metalscan 1650, the world's top-selling portable emission spectrometer and the Metalscan 2000 - the world's first desk-top spectrometer combining low-cost flexible minature CCD array technology with a high-precision spark source.
More recently, the M2500 series of desktop spectrometers have been introduced with an integral colour touch screen and improved performance in the far UV part of the spectrum, essential for the important Ferrous elements of Carbon Sulphur and Phosphorous. A new range of portable spectrometers, the M3000 series has also been introduced, offering either arc, spark or both types of excitation.
Arun Technology's heavy investment in research and development continues to ensure a steady flow of new, world-beating products. It also maintains close links with universities and scientific institutions where Arun is involved in expanding the application of its CCD array technology within and beyond the metals industry. In 1998 Arun Technology was awarded the annual Achievement Award of the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers for its Metalscan 2000 product.
